The small vintner town Uelversheim is surrounded by well-tended vineyards, located far from the hectic rush of large cities in the enchanting countryside. The documentation of wine making in this area goes back as far as the year of 765.
Our wine estate was founded in the year 1856. At that time, Peter Ritzheim left his family of eight and resettled in his hometown Uelversheim.
In the course of time, the farm originally dedicated to agriculture, wine growing and livestock, converted into a specialized winery.
Today, Albert und Ute Ritzheim run their winery in the fifth generation.
Modest pruning of the vines combined with careful cultivation with principles that follow nature are the basis of your distinctive wine quality.
Our wine cellar is our pride.
We own and still work in a really beautiful ancient wine cellar with oak wood barrels some of which have a painted surfaces.
Most of our wine matures in these ancient oak wood barrels, according to age-old traditions.
From grape harvesting to wine making, we set great value on processing our grapes and wine from single varieties, in a gentle and clean way.
Thus, our red wines are fermented on the mash. Regarding our wihte wines, we particularly focus on temperature-controlled fermentation. Through this procedure the aromas typical of these grapes become more intensive.
You will find a wide selection of white wine including Chardonnay, Pinos Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Mueller Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Kerner, Gewuerztraminer and Scheurebe.
We harvest Pinot noir, Dornfelder, Portugieser, Cabernet Mitos red wines.
We also carry grape juice, secco and sparkling wine.
